~LOCAL INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGMENT~

The Port au Prince Downtown Reconstruction Plan prepared by the Prince's Foundation in collaboration with DPZ Architects and Paul Crabtree Engineers outlined an option, called the "Urban Village" which would allow for incremental block by block rebuilding.  Infrastructure--power, water and waste would be provisionally provided for in the middle of each block, in a service and parking core that would be shared by all the residents.

Although the plan called for the application of a "military" model, we have also explored the potential of a more permanent sustainable infrastructure solution, that would help localize utility generation and management, while mitigating the burden on the oversubscribed municipal systems.
