~DOWNTOWN PAUP BUILDING PROTOTYPES~

Two building types are explored in this  typical block in Downtown PauP, the Kreyol Townhouse and the Gwo Kay/Grand Maison.  The Kreyol Townhouse is accommodates a range of incremental additions, from the traditional single story bays to a multi-story courtyard podium configuration.  The townhouse type is  the essential thread in the urban Kreyol building fabric.

The Gwo Kay ('Big House") is the signature landmark building at the corners of blocks.  Multi-story Galri wrap the building envelope.  The ground floor accommodates an "Entresol" with a double height space that contains a mezzanine.  This building type is especially suited to civic and institutional uses.  Both these types respond to the Princes Foundation/DPZ January 2011 Plan.
